Where to buy German beer

If you can’t afford to attend any Oktoberfest events – or have been too busy to keep up with the festivities – you don’t have to miss out on German beer! Here are a few places where you can find some well-known-and-loved beers!

Oktoberfest 2013 @ Alpen Club

Oktoberfest may have ended on 6 October this year but it’s not too late to take part in Oktoberfest festivities at the Vancouver Alpen Club.

This year, the German men’s choir M.G.V. Lyra will present the 4-day Oktoberfest on 18-19th and 25-26th October 2013 from 6:45PM onwards! Music will be presented by the Continentals and DJ Mike.

Tickets are $25 (tax incl.) online or at the door in cash. VIP packages are available – please contact the Alpen Club.
Please note that this is a 19+ event.

Where to rent Lederhosen & Dirndls

 (Sorry, I meant to post this sooner!)

Oktoberfest started on 21 September (no, not October) so there’s time yet to pick out a Dirndl (traditional dresses) or a pair of Lederhosen (traditional leather trousers with suspenders) from Germany in Vancouver. Aren’t you glad you won’t have to fly all the way to Bavaria (in Germany) for this special occassion?
