CelticFest Vancouver 2013 & St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day is next Sunday and the 9th annual CelticFest Vancouver is coming up soon from 9-17 March 2013!

Once again, there will be a Celtic Village, where one can listen to free concerts, visit Irish wolfhounds, have some food, check out their Street Market, and even let the children participate in some fun activities. Mahony & Sons Celtic Village will be on Granville St (between Robson & Nelson St) from 16 (11am-6pm) to 17 March (10am-5pm).

There will also be many events – some of which are free – which you can find on their webpage: Festival Schedule/Tickets. Here are some of the ones I’m interested in:

  • 9th (12-5PM): Celts on the Creek – The Village on False Creek – FREE
Performances by the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, SwingReel, Blackthorn, and Vagabonds
  • 10th (5-8PM): Sloe Gin Sideshow – Johnnie Fox’s Irish Snug – FREE (must be 19+)
    Music performance
  • 11th, 12th & 13th (3-6PM): Lewis Kane – Johnnie Fox’s Irish Snug – FREE (must be 19+)
    Scottish Highlands music
  • 14th (5-8PM): Mairi Rankin – Céili’s Irish Pub & Restaurant – FREE (must be 19+)
    Cape Breton music
  • 15th (5:30PM): Sionnaine Irish Dancers – Céili’s Irish Pub & Restaurant – FREE (must be 19+)

  1. Reblogged this on The World of the Rose of Europe and commented:

After Christmas, St Patrick’s Day is my next favourite holiday! This year, I’ve thought ahead and have made reservations to avoid spending St Paddy’s at home! I’ve also been offered the opportunity to model at the SMOC’s The Wearing O’ The Green live model lecture series! Looking forward to the coming weekends. 🙂
