Vancouver Concert Opera Society’s Die Fledermaus

Johan Strauss Jr’s ‘Die Fledermaus’ (The Bat) is one of my favourite operas and what better way to ring in the new year than to celebrate with his champagne-filled opera!

Original (30 Nov 2012): Vancouver Concert Opera Society, coming to its 3rd year, will be performing ‘Die Fledermaus’ on 4-5 January at 7PM at the Pyatt Hall / VSO School of Music (843 Seymour St). They will also be performing on the 6th in White Rock. As the venue only seats 110 patrons, it is highly recommended that tickets be purchased in advance.

The opera will be sung in German but with English dialogue and the performance is around 2.5 hours long (incl. 30 min intermission).

NEW PRICE for 2 Jan (until midnight)! Advance: $39 $34 Adults | $34 $29 Students & Seniors
At the Door: $45 Adults | $40 Students & Seniors

Update: Vancoco will be doing an encore performance on 9 Jan 2013 in Richmond!
Time: 2PM & 7PM
Location: Minoru Chapel (6540 Gilbert Rd, Richmond, BC)
Price: $20 Adults | $18 Students & Seniors

I enjoyed the performance on the 4th. I liked how it was adapted for the Vancouverite audience! Quite creatively done! 🙂
